School Policy
General Rules & Policies
• All students are required to wear street clothes and shoes when entering or leaving the studio.
• Students expected to be ON TIME for every class. This means the student should be in the class before the music starts.
• Students are expected to stay in class until the end and not leave without permission. Use the restroom, secure hair, get water etc. before entering classroom.
• Students are required to wear proper attire and will not be permitted to take class without proper attire. Please refer to Dress Code Policy.
• Elastics and ribbons must be sewn on ballet slippers. Pointe shoes must have elastics and ribbons sewn or student may be asked to observe class.
• Students are expected to be respectful and courteous to all teachers, guests, staff, volunteers, as well as fellow classmates.
• Students are NOT TO TALK in class. If a student has a question, he/she should raise their hand.
• Students are required to TURN OFF cell phones before entering class. Please refrain from taking photos or videos in the facility without permission.
• Students are ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED to chew gum, eat, or bring sodas, juice, or any open bottles into the studio.
• Students are expected to keep the noise level to a minimum in the hallway and dressing rooms.
• Students are expected to have respect for other students and school property. Anyone found guilty of stealing may be dismissed from the studio.
• The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Check Lost and Found box for items. Lost and Found items will be donated at the end of each month.
• Arrival and departure from classes and rehearsals is expected to be punctual.
• Students must wait inside the building for their ride to pick them up.
• Students in the Youth Ensemble are not permitted to take classes or to perform elsewhere without the permission of the Directors.
• Telephones are not for student use unless there is an illness, a time change, or an early closing.
• Students and parents are responsible for reading all posted notices and emails.
• Parents and students should discuss all rules of etiquette(posted on the bulletin board) and general school policies. Proper understanding of rules will lead to a more positive experience for everyone.
• Schedule is subject to change without notice. The Conservatory reserves the right to cancel classes, lessons, or a class series. If a class series is cancelled, your money will be refunded minus administration fees and lessons already attended.
• Evaluations will be made on all students appropriately, based on abilities, dedication and conduct. Student placement is at the sole discretion of the Directors. A personal meeting with the parent and the student will be scheduled to discuss any disagreement.
• Students are evaluated at least twice a year. They might be placed in a different level depending on their progress, conduct, attendance, punctuality, and commitment level.
• A minimum of 5 students is required to run a class.
• Registration form and 1st payment must be completed and signed prior to the 1st lesson.
• FDC does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin.
